Barista | Byron Bay

We’re opening the doors on a new cafe in the heart of Manly, and we need someone to bring it to life. This isn’t a role where you clock in, pull shots and clock out - it’s a chance to help build a cafe from its first coffee, and to become one of the faces our community looks forward to seeing every morning.

We’re looking for an experienced Barista who wants to own it. The title says Barista, but that undersells it - we want a craftsperson who treats this cafe like their own. The coffee, the counter, the regulars, the standard behind the machine - all of it is yours. When the queue is ten deep, you keep the quality high and the line moving. When it’s quiet, you’re dialling in the grinder, cleaning down and getting to know the person in front of you.

This is a community role as much as a coffee one. You’ll know the regulars by name and by order, ask about their morning run along the beach, their swim in the iconic Fairy Bower pool or the walk with the dog. You’re setting the tone for how Manly experiences the brand - one great coffee and one genuine conversation at a time.

  • Craft exceptional coffee and beverages to a consistently high standard.
  • Create memorable customer experiences and build strong relationships with regulars.
  • Perform confidently and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Keep the café, equipment and workspace organised, stocked and running smoothly.

  • Champion quality, cleanliness, safety and teamwork in every aspect of service.

You'll thrive if you

 

  • Have proven barista experience in a busy specialty coffee environment with strong technical coffee skills.
  • Are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and building genuine relationships with regulars.
  • Are able to maintain quality, consistency and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
  • Are reliable, proactive and take ownership of responsibilities with a strong work ethic.
  • Are confident using commercial coffee equipment, POS systems and workplace technology, with a solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
